Morphew School of Dance was founded by Pauline Morphew over 60 years ago to provide high-quality tuition in the four key dance genres - Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz. We now offer musical theatre and street dance as well. The main school is based in Trowbridge, and there are three "outreach" branches in Bratton, Holt and Chippenham.
Dance classes on offer include Street Dance for Beginners to Advanced. Learning to dance is a fun experience and a great way to meet new people and socialise. Learning to dance is very much a social thing and that's why it is growing in popularity.
An all round musical theatre class working on singing, acting and dancing techniques and performance. A fun and creative baby and parent participation class helping to develop baby's coordination and imagination. This lovely class is taught by our fantastic Miss Emma, where children can learn basic ballet and tap skills.
If you used to dance or want to learn in a fun and relaxed atmosphere then this class is for you! All our teachers work hard to create a safe and supportive environment where dancers feel empowered to let strut their stuff. Classes are charged on a drop-in basis and run during term time. We teach authentic Street Dance foundations. The techniques you learn have been passed down by the pioneers of Street Dance themselves sometimes they even teach at the event! Making sure you have the right moves is only half the story.
Beginner Adult Ballet classes offer the chance to improve your fitness and posture whilst developing ballet technique. A low impact workout using ballet technique to improve balance, co-ordination, muscle tone and posture. Intermediate ballet classes offer the chance to improve fitness and posture whilst developing ballet technique.
Build confidence, strength, and technique in our fundamental classes, offered for all ages and levels from beginner to advanced. South Street Dance believes in developing personality and self-expression as well as technique! Our Company Dancers participate in an audition-only class, comprised of the most dedicated and advanced dancers at South Street Dance.
For adults wishing to get back into dance, or just looking to get fit and meet new friends, Cornwall Dance's Adult classes are a great and easy way to get going! After warming up, basic techniques are taught and exercises and almagamations are tailored to be as hard hitting or relaxing as you want them to be! Little routines are then put together including the newly learnt moves to help to build on your knowledge of the style of dance.
Adult dance classes are divided up into 2 week blocks of choreography making it easy to drop in and learn routines. Week 1 - Learn new dance movement Week 2 - Recap dance movement and finish section. You can attend any class at any time, adult participants can drop in whenever they want or some people attend every week. No booking is needed.
